What We Believe
At Believers in Christ Community Church, everything we do is centered on Jesus and His Word. The following statements summarize our core beliefs, the truths that shape our worship, community, and mission.
Our Beliefs
The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, written by men under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).
Scripture is sufficient, complete, and totally trustworthy.
The Triune God
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
These three are coequal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious roles in the work of creation, providence, and redemption (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who took on human nature through the virgin birth. He is fully God and fully man—the hypostatic union.
He lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father (John 1:1–14; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:3).
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells and empowers all who trust in Christ.
He leads us into truth, grants spiritual gifts for the edification of the body, and sanctifies believers into Christlikeness (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22–23).
Humanity and Sin
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s transgression. As a result, all people are born sinners, spiritually dead and incapable of reconciling themselves to God apart from divine grace (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1–3).
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. True saving faith is inseparable from repentance, which is a turning from sin to God that results in a transformed life. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit produces this transformation and enables perseverance in faith and obedience (Romans 10:9-10, 2 Peter 3:9, Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:29-30; Acts 20:21).
The Church
We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25–27; Revelation 19:7–9), made up of all true believers who are saved by grace through faith.
Our local fellowship prioritizes gospel-centered community over formal membership. We gather to worship, disciple, serve, and reflect Christ to the world around us. We believe the Church is called to be a visible, transformative expression of God’s kingdom on earth—a community of faith, love, and mutual support (Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27).
Mission & Discipleship
We believe our mission is to show off the glory of Christ in every area of life. As followers of Jesus, we are called to evangelize, make disciples, and equip others to live out the gospel in their families, workplaces, communities, and the world (Matthew 28:18–20; 2 Timothy 2:2).
Eschatology
We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ. We affirm a real rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18), a future resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous (John 5:28–29), the final judgment, and the eternal destinies of heaven and hell.
Jesus Christ will return to raise the living and the dead and to establish His kingdom in fullness and reign in righteousness (Revelation 20:11–15; Acts 1:11).
Christ-Centered Living
We are committed to a Christ-centered life that displays the beauty and authority of Jesus in every domain—personal, relational, societal, and cultural. We desire to live lives that reflect His character and teachings, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and motivated by love and grace (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:17).
We want to empower, equip, and encourage believers to live a life that represents Christ in every area of their life.
Historic Confession
We affirm the Nicene Creed of A.D. 381 (Council of Constantinople) as a faithful summary of Christian orthodoxy, acknowledging the unity of the Church throughout history and aligning ourselves with its Christological truths.
